Countdown has begun for the notchless iPhone!

Ana sayfa / News

Apple transitioned to a notched design with the iPhone X models, and this design has become iconic for the company, even extending to their Mac models. However, Apple is now preparing to bid farewell to notches, as they introduce a different notch design with the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Apple obtains a patent for a notchless display.

Notches on Apple devices accommodate the camera, Face ID, and ambient light sensors. Technologies used in this area, especially Face ID, have hindered Apple from adopting a notchless design thus far. However, a patent obtained by Apple in Europe seems to completely change this situation.

The main challenge is ensuring that the camera and sensors within the notch receive sufficient light, which is crucial for the efficient functioning of these devices. Apple believes that it has found a solution through the patent it obtained. The company intends to address this issue by adding transparent areas to the screens, allowing the necessary amount of light to reach these components.

Really gigantic: Meet the world’s largest iPhone!

Meet the world's largest iPhone. The giant iPhone measures a whopping 3 meters in length. Here are all the details...

Apple believes that by incorporating transparent areas into the display, all the necessary components will receive the required amount of light and can be hidden beneath the main screen. Of course, this raises some questions: Will these transparent sections on the screen distort the overall appearance?

The patent acquired by the company also addresses this concern. Apple claims that these transparent sections will be as small as possible and virtually invisible. The holes, which will be on a scale of one in ten million millimeters, are stated to have no adverse effects during usage.

Although we have seen notchless designs from other brands before, Apple seemed to lag behind in this aspect. However, with this patent, we may expect to see notchless iPhone and MacBook models in the near future. What are your thoughts on a potential notchless iPhone model? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section.
